International Day of Peace

International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The United Nations General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.

To mark this day, the Quaker Service Memorial Trust will be holding a Meeting for Worship on Saturday 22 September at 2:30 pm at the Quaker service memorial which is located at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.

QSMT Trustees will be at the Arboretum main reception from 1:45 pm to meet and greet Friends from neighbouring meetings. We will depart from the Arboretum building at 2:00 pm to walk to the memorial site.

There is limited seating at the memorial site – a cushion is advisable, or a folding chair if you prefer to sit rather than stand during Meeting for Worship which will last for half an hour – weather permitting

The National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) is open from 9:00-5:00.There is no charge for admission, with parking at £3 per vehicle for the day, pay and display. There are two car parks; the car park at the main site has spaces for blue badge holders, drop off and general parking spaces. The additional car park is a ten minute walk from the Arboretum entrance.
