International Day of Peace 2019

Saturday 21 September is International Day of Peace. To mark this day the Quaker Service Memorial Trust will be holding a Meeting for Worship, at 2:30pm at the Quaker service memorial which is located at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.

QSMT Trustees will be at the Arboretum main reception from 1:45 pm to meet and greet Friends from neighbouring meetings. We will depart from the Arboretum building at 2:00 to walk to the memorial site. A golf buggy shuttle will be available to and from the memorial for those who need this support. There is limited seating at the memorial – a cushion is advisable, or a folding chair if you prefer to sit rather than stand during Meeting for Worship which will last for half an hour – weather permitting .

The National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) is open from 9:00-5:00.There is no charge for admission, with parking at £3 per vehicle for the day, pay and display. There are two car parks; the car park at the main site has spaces for blue badge holders, drop off and general parking spaces. The additional car park is a ten minute walk from the Arboretum entrance. If meetings have arranged a minibus please contact the NMA in advance on 01283 245 100 so that they can advise you about parking.

The Arboretum has a good café with a wide selection of food and drink.
