Conscientious Objector Day,2017
Monday 15 May, is Conscientious Objector Day. To mark this day the Quaker Service Memorial Trust will be holding a Meeting for Worship, at 2:30pm at the Quaker service memorial which is located at the National Memorial Arboretum , Croxall Road, Alrewas, Staffordshire.DE13 7AR
The National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) is open from 9:00-5:00.There is no charge for admission, with parking at £3 per vehicle for the day, pay and display. The car park is situated about a 10 minute walk from the main entrance.; it is possible to drop people off at the entrance and then go and park in the car park. There are disabled parking spaces on the main site. If meetings have arranged a minibus please contact the NMA in advance, 01283 245100, so that they can advise you about parking.
The Arboretum has a good café with a wide selection of food and drink.
QSMT Trustees will be at the Arboretum main reception from 2:00 pm to meet and greet Friends from neighbouring meetings. We will depart from the Arboretum building at 2:15 to walk to the memorial site, allowing 15 minutes.
There is limited seating at the memorial site – a cushion is advisable, or a folding chair if you prefer to sit rather than stand during Meeting for Worship which will last for half an hour – weather permitting .
